I’m still chipping away at building a screen printing shop in my garage one project at a time. This time I show you how to build a screen printing washout booth for cheap using stuff you can grab at Home Depot or around your own house for about $60.
I’m really happy with this screen printing washout booth because once again its light and portable just like the screen printing cart I put together earlier.
Build a Screen Printing Washout Booth for Yourself
If you want to tackle this project, I’ve gathered up a shopping list of all the items you would need to build the washout booth yourself. I also have the blueprints I created for cutting up the corrugated plastic sheet to make the back splash for the booth. All of this is for f-f-FREE!
You just need to put your email into the box below to sign up for the SSPN newsletter. A free download button will appear after that.

man! you really remind myself 25 years ago, finding ways to save some money and make a living. You see, I come from a very poor country, we use to see screen printing equipment out of a magazine and dream about it, but we had to find the way to do our job, no YouTube, no internet, no inkjet printers, no fast emulsions, the worse, carving a difficult artwork on film (no computers) and then ruin it when sticking it to the mesh 🙁 I don’t miss those days, I don’t print anymore I’m too old for screen printing but I came across to your YT channel and you do a very nice job. Congrats keep on printing you are doing a excellent job!

Hey guys. I’ve been getting comments that the download link isnt showing up for some people. I think this is only been happening to some people and it may be because javascript is turned off on your browser, but I am looking into it. If a download button does not show up after putting in your email above, just let me know in the comments and I will send you an email. Thanks!

Hi this is great thanks for the blueprint, I just want to update you that I went to buy everything you listed and it came to over $120.00
August 26, 2016 at 3:59 pm
Hi Dorian! Hmm thats strange. Do you happen to know what things made it so much more expensive. I tried to base the pricing mostly on the things that were the most necessary to the build. The biggest expense being the laundry tub and making sure you can get it for $30 in the store. Some items like garden hoses and spray nozzles I consider extra and didnt really consider those in the build price.

I just built one of these based on your instructions and it works!
I found my sink at Lowe’s online for $25.98 and ended up using different screws, but I think I spent about $56.00 today (under budget! lol)… The only problem I found was that the screens don’t have much wiggle room (they do fit), but a shelf wouldn’t work for me. I have 20″x24″ aluminum screens and I found that they fit snug at the bottom – but not all the way down… which is a good thing. There is a gap, so they won’t sit in the sludge water. All around, I’m pretty happy with the outcome and looking forward to using my new sink 😉
Thank you!!

That’s awesome Kimberly! I’m glad it is working out for you! You are very welcome. Yeah it is designed more toward smaller screens because I am trying to save room on my garage print shop. Thanks again!
